Visit Britain's only working Victorian Malthouse open to the public and see the fascinating process of how we convert barley into malt for our brewing customers throughout the South-West of England.

We still use the original belt-driven machinery installed in 1900, and you will see how we hand-plough our barley on the 140 ft germination floors in the time-honoured fashion.

After growing for five days, the barley travels to our kilns where the extreme humidity, followed by dry heat and finally the sweet smell of the finished malt is an emotive sight, smell and taste to all those who visit us!

The tour finishes with a freshing sample of real ale made on the premises and a chance to purchase from the Speciality Bottled Beer Shop. Stocking over 250 ales, it is probably the most extensive range of its kind in the South-West with rare Vintage Ales sold alongside a number of brews that use Tuckers Malt.

There is a museum on site as well as a discovery area (enjoyed by both young and old alike!) and dogs on a lead are always welcome on our tours.
